La Tranca ! Located just 5 minutes down a side street from the Vrijthof is our hip taverna / authentic Spanish tapas bar. It is perhaps the smallest tapas bar in the Netherlands.

Small but nice, then, with a view from the bar into the kitchen where chef and owner Charles Ploemen uses his experience and skills to prepare the finest dishes for his guests.

From tapas to platos combinados, everything is prepared in front of your nose here.. You will find the “Cocina Espanola,” Spanish cuisine in its purest form.

Rest here after shopping or visiting one of the weekly markets at the Vrijthof (Wed and Fri).Our guests are a mix of students, tourists, shoppers and local residents.
